John Griffiths
John Griffiths has been Leader of St Edmundsbury Borough Council since 2003 and was first elected as a Councillor in 1997. He is a Managing Director of financial services company, Lynton Bardwell Limited and residential property company, CLBES Limited.
John has spent his career in financial services and served as an Executive Director at Samuel Montagu & Co Limited, working in both London and the USA, where he set up and managed the bank's US West Coast office. Prior to that, John worked at Lloyds Bank International (Bank of London & South America), serving in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Panama and London.
John is Chairman of the Western Suffolk Local Strategic Partnership, and a member of East of England Regional Assembly, Suffolk Strategic Partnership and Suffolk LGA.
He is a keen sportsman, playing tennis, squash, cricket and fishing, and enjoys travelling.
