This partnership includes Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Constabulary and the district/borough authorities. It aims to ensure the views of Suffolk’s residents are fully taken into account.
Choose Suffolk has been appointed to deliver a series of focus groups across the county. A number of previous surveys have highlighted the public’s desire to see certain services given priority and one of the key aims of the focus groups is to understand not only why these services are important, but also how much priority should be placed on these in the coming years.
Often used to support or test the results of quantitative research such as surveys, focus groups provide a fantastic way to gain a comprehensive understanding of perceptions or opinions. Whilst surveys allow us to obtain answers to our questions, they don’t always enable us to appreciate why these answers have been given. During a focus group the moderator can probe responses as they are given, reacting to participants’ views during the course of the session.
