Perfect Pitch for Suffolk
22/09/2009
Influential figures from the business community and public sector joined the team from Choose Suffolk at Kesgrave Hall on Thursday 17th September to mark the launch of the agency's latest awareness-raising campaign, ‘Key Facts - The Suffolk Elevator Pitch'.
‘Key Facts - The Suffolk Elevator Pitch' is an online- and print-based tool that has been designed to deliver a suite of top-line facts and information about the county.
Visitors to the campaign's website - www.choosesuffolk.com/keyfacts - will be able to view headline information about the county, presented as 20 succinct facts with associated film footage. These elements can then be selected to form a tailored compendium which can then be downloaded as a printable factsheet.
The information within the campaign covers a broad selection of facts and statistics about Suffolk, ranging from historical and cultural information, to the county's different business sectors and its popularity as a tourism destination. All of the current 20 facts have been chosen because they highlight information that will surprise, interest and inspire people who may not know much about Suffolk or have never visited the county.
Some examples of the facts included are:
- Two million tourists visit Suffolk every year, putting over £1.63bn into the county's economy
- The Port of Felixstowe is the largest container port in the UK, handling over three million containers a year
- Suffolk has just 176 people per square km, less than half the national average of 379
Celia Hodson, Chief Executive of Choose Suffolk, said, Our latest campaign gives people an exciting tool that they can adapt for their own purposes and use in a variety of ways to create a lively ‘elevator pitch' style showcase of Suffolk to anyone looking to invest, locate or visit Suffolk.
She continued, This county has so much to offer, for business and pleasure, and we need to make sure we take every opportunity to shout about its many qualities. Whenever people from the county are visiting other areas of the UK and abroad, they are de facto ambassadors for Suffolk, and this is an accessible and flexible tool that they can use to source interesting information that will add some real energy to presentations, meetings and general conversations.
The ‘Key Facts - The Suffolk Elevator Pitch' will continue to evolve with further facts added to the website over time.
